Flow of departure

In this page, we will explain the flow of the tour from the course selection itself to reservation, payment and the departure process.


1.Choose a course

We offer various courses in Tokyo and around (Fuji, Nikko etc.).

I. Tokyo city tours

You can enjoy basically two types of the Tokyo tours – half-day tours (Tokyo Morning, Cityrama Tokyo Morning, Tokyo Afternoon, Tokyo SKYTREE® Afternoon) and full-day tours ( Dynamic Tokyo, Panoramic Tokyo). Each tour provides different experience a visit different sightseeing spots like Imperial Palace, Asakusa, SKYTREE® or Tokyo Tower. Tokyo tour for our Chinese speaking customers is also possible (check here for traditional Chinese, here for simplified Chinese).

Tokyo city tours (course code beginning with A) will depart even with only one customer.
Joining without reservation is possible if empty seats are still available.

II. Tours outside of Tokyo

You can also enjoy full-day tour outside of Tokyo. Our guides will take you for example to beautiful Mt. Fuji region or to World Herritage Nikko during the season. Furthermore, we also offer special seasonal tours so you can enjoy beautiful spring hanami or autumn momiji. 

Please note that these tours (code beginning with H) will be conducted only if the required minimum number of passengers is met.
Cancellation fee will be charged in the case of cancelling the reservation.

III. Open-Top Double-Decker Bus

If you have almost no time to spend but still want to enjoy Tokyo, you can try our Tokyo Panaroma Drive. Open-Top Double-Decker bus will take you for 1-hour sightseeing trip around famous spots and districts in Tokyo. First tour departs at 9:30 and next follows in the 30 minutes interval.

This tour is conducted in Japanese, but you can use the audio translation system we will provide (English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, French, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese).
Getting off the bus in the middle of this tour is not possible.

IV. Bus tour conducted in Japanese

These tours are conducted by a japanese tour guide. We offer a variety of courses daily, including courses in Tokyo and whole day trips in other areas. Even if the course is conducted in Japanese only, Foreign passengers are also welcome to join the tour. The reservation can be made from Hato Bus Japanese website (some courses can also be booked from this website).


You can book most of the courses on this website. The reservations can be make until 16:00 the one day before departure. (Please note the website maintenance time is from 15:00 to 16:30, so you might not be able to access our website during this time). We will notify you via e-mail after your reservation has been made, so please enter your e-mail address correctly when making your reservation. For the foreign language tour, if the required minimum number of passengers is not met, the tour will be cancelled and you will be informed 5 days before the departure date via e-mail or telephone call. On the day of departure, please print out the reservation completion email, possibly save it in your mobile phone, or keep the reference number.

Tokyo City tours (Course NO. starts with A and B)

You can make the reservation from our home page (until 16:00 the day before departure). When making the reservation the payment by credit card will be required. You can also make the reservation through e-mail and phone call. In that case, as long as the number of passengers reserved is below 10, you can complete the payment on the day of departure. If there are any empty seats left, you can also join the tour without making any reservation beforehand.

Tours outside of Tokyo (Course NO. starts with H, R and P)

You can make the reservation from our webpage (until 16:00 the day before departure). When making the reservation, the payment by credit card will be required. You can also make the reservation through e-mail and phone call, but in this case the credit card payment will be also required – we will ask you for your card number and for the date of expiry (no information of your credit card will be saved in our company database. when making any changes or cancelling the reservation, we will ask you for the card details again).

If the required minimum number of passengers is not met, the tour can be canceled. We will make a fix decision whether the tour will be conducted or not 5 days before the date of departue. We will inform you about the result by the phone number or email address that you have registered.
Please don't hesitate to contact us for more inquiries regarding the tour situation.

Please note that in case you decide to cancel the tour by yourself, cancellation charges will be applied.



The following procedures are required to settle the process of reservation.

4.On the day of departure

Please gather at the meeting point at least 20 minutes before the departure. Even if you have already completed the payment, please come to the check-in counter (Hamamatsucho bus terminal for the tours departing in the morning) to get your boarding pass. (Please show us your reservation number or your name with the tour title or No. you are going to join).

For the afternoon tours departing from the Tokyo Station, please come to the platform N.7 and show your reservation details to our staff who will wait for you there. 


About bus company

Please note that the Tokyo Sightseeing city tours are conducted by buses from Hato Bus and the tours out of Tokyo might be be conducted by buses from other bus companies (which are meeting the strict Hato Bus criteria).
