This name refers to the eight ponds where underground water from Mt. Fuji springs up. The ponds are a national natural treasure. The clear water that fills up the ponds is melted snow from Mt. Fuji and has been naturally filtered for about 80 years. The area features a museum, restaurants, and souvenir shops.

Fuji Visitor Center

A facility introducing geological features, animals, plants, history, and culture of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. It serves as a base for visitors to Mt. Fuji. Displays introduce the importance of nature and conservation, as well as information on the whole region of Yamanashi Prefecture.
